Lawrence M. Brenner
Lawrence M. Brenner grew up in Kansas City, Mo., and received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania, his master’s degree from the University of Kansas, and a doctorate’s in Sociology from the University of Maryland.
Formerly a professor of sociology at the University of Kansas, Mr. Brenner received his juris doctorate degree from Columbus School of Law, Catholic University of America. He was admitted to the Bar in Maryland, the District of Columbia, and California and is a partner at the firm Thompson, Kontz and Brenner in Santa Cruz, Calif. There, he specializes in estate planning, probate and trust administration, as well as general business law, including corporations, LLC’s, partnerships and real property law.
Mr. Brenner is a past president of the Santa Cruz Bar Association, the Santa Cruz Bar Lawyer Referral Service and the Doran Center for the Blind. Mr. Brenner is currently a member of the Santa Cruz Estate Planning Council, the Santa Cruz Community Foundation Professional Advisors Committee and the Monterey Trust Planning Professionals. His community affiliations include the Santa Cruz Boys & Girls Club (board member and past president), Santa Cruz Rotary (past board member), and he is currently a board member of the Santa Cruz Museum of Art and History, the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, the Rother Hanser Foundation and the Fallen Officers Foundation.
